Molasses Blueberry Cake

It’s Throwback Thursday! Today I’m throwing it back to the time I made a classic New England bake: Molasses Blueberry Cake! The original recipe is from a 1915 Reliable Flour recipe booklet titled “Biscuits and Cakes”, which is part of my old cookbook collection. While I made a few small modifications to the recipe, including baking this in a bundt pan, I really loved this cake! It’s rich and moist with a strong molasses flavor that pairs nicely with the blueberries. I think it would make some excellent muffins…

Have you ever had this cake and, if so, what did you think? Would you like to see this offered as part of our menu? Do you want to see more bakes from my vintage cookbook collection? Let us know in the comments below!
