Rootbeer Float Cupcakes!

This time of year is the best time for testing out new recipes for the spring and summer markets. My first experiment was Rootbeer Float Cupcakes! I’ve seen a bunch of different recipes out there and tried a few with less than stellar results. I decided to take our base cupcake recipe, which I’ve used in the past to make Funfetti Cupcakes, and modify that and it paid off! I present to you our Rootbeer Float Cupcakes, composed of a rootbeer cupcake base, filled with a cherry pie filling, topped with a whipped vanilla buttercream, maraschino cherry, and a sour Twizzler straw! Yum!

These really do taste just like a rootbeer float (with the exception of the Twizzler)! The sour taste of those Twizzlers weren’t my favorite, but I couldn’t find the regular ones at the store. But don’t worry, we’ll get the regular Twizzlers for the markets.
